Analog performance

We believe the reason why listeners describe the sound of DAC8 as "calm" and "analog-like" is the absence of high-order harmonics and intermodulation products. The dominant distortion component is the 2nd order, located at vanishingly low -125dB.

Why balanced outputs only?

With unbalanced (RCA) connections, shield conductor happens to be also a signal conductor. Any real-world interference like mains hum or RFI are inevitably mixed into the signal. Although it may stay below audible threshold, the music signal is affected and intermodulation occurs. Stop worrying about ground loops, enter the balanced signalling.

Practical, reliable, beautiful. While DAC8 can learn commands from any remote, we recommend the original Apple Remote.
